A surprise packet in the eyes of many and a big reason behind some of their success this year, veteran Sydney Roosters back Michael Gordon has re-signed with the club for a further season.
The 219-game veteran has made an immediate impression on the Roosters fans and he is excited to stay at the club for another season.
“Since day one, everyone at the Roosters has made me and my family feel welcome and at home, so that’s a big reason I’m pleased to be extending my time here,” said Gordon.
“From a footy perspective, I still feel like the body is really good and I’ve got something to offer. I’m enjoying my footy and being part of the team here at the Roosters,” he added.
I’m enjoying my footy and being part of the team here at the Roosters.”
Whilst there is some uncertainty as to what sort of role he will play the club in 2018 with the impending arrival of James Tedesco, the club is excited to retain him in their system.
“Michael’s class and experience have been a welcome addition to our squad this year,” said Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson.
“Michael has brought a selflessness to the group, and consistently makes an integral contribution to our side.
Aside from his on-field role, Michael is also a very good man, and it’s great news for our Club to have him locked into our plans for next season.”
