Ladies and gentleman, South Sydney Rabbitohs fans across the world….Bryson Goodwin is back!
You read and heard that right; the 2014 NRL premiership winning back is back, signing on again for the 2020 season.
Having previously been at the club for five seasons, Goodwin has recently been playing in the Super League.
The veteran centre will bring some much needed experience to a relatively young Souths back-line.
General Manager of Football Shane Richardson knows just how Goodwin’s signing could be.
“Bryson is one of those players that you know will give 100% effort every time he takes the field,” Mr Richardson said.
“He has given a lot to this Club over the five years he was with us previously, and his form has been excellent over the past two years since he moved to Warrington.”
Although starting straight away is not a sure thing, there will be every opportunity for Goodwin to notch up 100 games for the Rabbitohs.
“He will have the opportunity to play his 100th first grade game for South Sydney when he returns and he will add a lot of experience to our outside backs,” Richardson continued.
“It will be great to welcome Bryson back for the 2020 season.”
For Goodwin, the timing to return felt right and so he went with it.
“I felt that this was a really good opportunity, we put all the pieces together and my family and I felt that this is the right decision and the right time to come home,” Goodwin said.
“(South Sydney) are going really well at the moment and hopefully next year we can do well too.
“I’m really looking forward to (heading back to Souths), but first and foremost, I’m really looking forward to finishing this year off strongly at Warrington, hopefully make the Challenge Cup Final and take out the Super League, doing one better in each comp than we did last year.”
