Jason Taylor South Sydney Rabbitohs losing in NRL 2008Its the worst possible outcome for the struggling South Sydney Rabbitohs, losing form players in hooker Issac Luke and Roy Asotasi for this weeks crunch game against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Souths are yet to win a game in the 2008 NRL season and now have the mighty task of toppling the suddenly in-form Manly Sea Eagles, after they got a massive boost last night dusting the NZ Warriors in a 50 point rout.

Souths are set to lose livewire hooker Issac Luke for up to 6 weeks with a broken hand and captain Roy Asotasi is recovering from a head knock that saw him admitted to hospital after the Penrith game.

It’s been a luckless year for the Bunnies and after only 3 Rounds you can’t help but feel sorry for the club that promised so much. They lost Craig Wing within minutes of the season starting, Riley Brown and the Roosters reducing his early season appearances with a suspicious tackle.

Confidence continued to spiral downwards from there, coach Jason Taylor struggling to get a strong halves combination and the team still unable to put on the points. Yes, it’s only Round 4 coming up this weekend – but you’d have to say the Bunnies are long shots to beat the Eagles and that leaves them 4-6 points adrift from the major players.

Coach Taylor reacting swiftly by bring Jeremy Smith back into the halves and forcing Buddy Gordon out of the team as the Rabbitohs look to spark up their season with a duck breaking win.
