THE Bulldogs could finally confirm the NRL’s worst kept secret today, with leading no.7 Brett Kimmorley inking a 2 year agreement with the struggling Sydney club.
The Cronulla Sharks could live to rue the day they let Kimmorley go, on a good roll in 2008 the Sharks were ever so keen to show Kimmorley the door and it was well known that hard-line coach Ricky Stuart never really liked the style that Brett Kimmorley played.
The Bulldogs on the other hand should be extremely happy with the key signing, already moving heavily into the player market – the Dogs can now build a strong squad around the prominent Kimmorley.
“We’ve needed a quality halfback for a few seasons now and Brett is exactly what we need,” said Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg.
“He has a good record at the highest levels of NRL and his experience on the field will be a real advantage for us.”
2009 coach Kevin Moore was also happy with the new signing.
“He’s just the person we want at our Club, we feel he is an ideal representative on the field and in other areas of League” Moore said.
“I think he’ll be an ideal role model and should hit the ground running next year. His training ethic is near perfect, he’s tough, durable and a real competitor.”
as a sharky fan I am disgusted that kimmo wasn’t resigned as a sharks player for 2 years or more. Kimmo is the heart of the sharks and I think that without him the club will fail.
i feel as if kimmorley should not have gone because without him the sharks are going to be down
also i would like to know if there are any other signings for the sharks other than corey hughes anthony tupo and trent barret please someone reply
