NORTH Queensland forward Luke O’Donnell has been found guilty of two striking charges at the NRL judiciary and will now miss seven weeks.

O’Donnell had previously accepted a one-week ban for abusing a sideline official and guilty verdicts for striking Penrith’s Luke Lewis and Luke Priddis both attracted three week bans, taking his overall punishment to seven games.

O’Donnell refused to talk to the media after the hearing, but Cowboys general manager football Dean Lance said the club was bitterly disappointed with the result.

“We are very disappointed with the outcome,” Lance said.

“We believe the penalty is excessive in the extreme.

“We don’t believe that was the result we deserved.”
