New Sharks pivot Trent Barrett has been cleared of any major neck problems after he was injured upon his return to WIN Jubilee Oval today.
Nearing the end of the close match between the Saints and Dragons, Barrett collided awkwardly with a teammate and was carried from the field after bending his neck badly.
“It’s all been good news,” confirmed Cronulla Sharks medico David Givney – his comments coming through a Cronulla club media spokesmen.
“The CT and MRI scans have come back normal. There’s no boney or ligamentous injury and symptoms (are) slowly resolving.
Barrett is expected to be released tonight and it will be a matter of monitoring his comfort levels over the next week or two.
