North Queensland Cowboys Players AxedThe North Queensland Cowboys have thrown the axe at leading prop Carl Webb and upcoming winger John Williams after their pair failed to adhere to club discipline rules. The two key members of the side will be unavailable for the Round 6 clash with the Sharks this weekend.

According to sources, Carl Webb rocked up to training nearly half an hour late after their weekend match and John Williams pulled a no-show.

Neither player will travel with the team to Adelaide for the historic clash at this stage, and Grant Rovelli is another to be culled from Neil Henry’s 19 man traveling party.
Former Eel and Bulldog Willie Tonga comes back from injury and the axed positions allow the likes of Ben Harris and Ben Farrar to stake their claims for full time slots in the struggling North Queensland side.

The Cowboys seemingly continue to struggle under new coach Neil Henry and it seems more axing may follow this early round of chops. The same group of players present were responsbile for ousting Graham Murray, the long term coach that had so much success at the Northern club. It may be a case of players ruling the roost, and Henry may need to be cruel to get things going.
