As he enters the next phase of his recovery, Dragons prop Michael Weyman hopes to be fit for the start of the 2011 season he battles a recurring groin injury.

Nursing the injury for the majority of last season, Weyman underwent two separate surgical procedures, as he attempts to rid himself of the ongoing groin problem once and for all.

Weyman has mainly been training on his own so far in the pre-season, but he is pleased with his progress so far and is hopeful that he can rejoin his team-mates in training in the near future.

“The injury’s coming along well and at the moment I feel really good,” he said.

“Towards the end of last year I was flat-out walking and not playing but it’s all fixed now and I’m feeling pretty good.

“The coaching staff has got plans in place [concerning] my progress but we keep taking it day by day.

“I’m hoping by the start of the season.”

In a happy sign for the Dragons prop, he is now officially married after tying the knot with his fiance during the off-season.

“I got married in between operation and it worked out well in the end,” said the newlywed.

“I had one operation before getting married, then had the honeymoon and returned for the other operation.”
