He is coming off a career best season in 2010, and it has showed, with the Raiders desperate to retain him, in light of interest from both the Newcastle Knights, and the Gold Coast Titans.
With the big prop coming off contract at the end of 2011, he has some decisions to make regarding his future, with Newcastle and the Gold Coast both viable options.
Knights Chief Executive Steve Burraston has signalled his club’s intent to sign the big prop, and perhaps they along with the Titans can stake their claim, as Lahrs has family in both areas.
“I’m hoping to stay in Canberra, I love the club and what they have done for me, but I’ve also got a young family and have lots to consider,” said Learoyd-Lahrs,
“One reason I would consider Newcastle is because my wife’s family is in Tamworth, which is only a short drive, and I’ve also got family on the Gold Coast.
“But I’ll leave it to my manager to sort out and I’ll just focus on playing good footy.”
The Eels may also get in contact with Learoyd-Lahrs, given that his father-in-law is a diehard Eels fan.
