With 16 days left before the start of the NRL season, former Eel, Rooster and Tiger, Jason Cayless, has announced his retirement from the NRL.
Cayless played 110 games in total for the three teams, and he was a part of the Roosters 2002 Grand Final side.
Chronic shoulder and back problems have hampered him in the past however, and he was only able to play 3 matches for the Tigers in 2010.
“I’ve been unlucky with injuries over the past 12 months which has probably brought forward the decision a little early,” Cayless said.
“But the game has been fantastic to me over 11 years so there aren’t too many complaints.
“Hanging up the boots gives me a good opportunity to take a break for a while before deciding what to do with the next stage of my life.”
