It is a timely boost ahead of the 2012 NRL season, with the Brisbane Broncos re-signing 5 young guns to new deals today.

Four of the five to re-sign, were a part of the Broncos 2008 NYC grand final team – Alex Glenn, Jharal Yow Yeh, Andrew McCullough and Ben Hunt, with local junior David Hala also re-signing.

Paul White, the Bronco chief executive, was pleased with the re-signings of the five young players, who will spend even longer at the club.

“These players are a large part of the core of the talent we have developed, and that we believe will take us into the next chapter of success for the Broncos.

“They are fine young men and we are extremely pleased they have chosen to further commit their futures to the club.”

Broncos head coach Anthony Griffin, who happened to coach all 5 players at the U20’s level as well, said that the plan was always to retain their young juniors.

“We are very happy to be able to sign these players who have developed through our system from juniors to second-tier players to NRL standard, and onto Test honours already in a couple of cases,” he said.

“The club has worked hard to give these guys the opportunity to play NRL football and they have proven their ability to compete in the best rugby league competition in the world.

“It is also very pleasing for us that they have shown some faith in the club and where it is going by re-signing such significant extensions to their contracts.”

Yow Yeh, Glenn and McCullough all re-signed until the end of the 2015 season, David Hala re-signed until the end of the 2014 NRL season, and Ben Hunt signed 1-year extension to his deal.
