He may injured at the moment, and he may be a back-up to Mitch Rein for season 2012, but despite that, Cameron King has made the move he sees as best for his future – and that is re-signing with the Dragons for a further 2 years.

The contract extension will see King remain with St George Illawarra until at least the end of the 2014 NRL season, with the local junior pleased to have re-signed to a new deal with the club.

Injuries have been unkind to former Australian Schoolboy Captain however, with a ruptured pectoral muscle ending his season in 2011 at the World Club Challenge, before a broken finger this year, has him sideline for at least another month.

Despite that, King is upbeat and pleased to have extended his stay at the Dragons.

“I’m really excited to have re-signed with the Dragons, we are a very proud Club, I really enjoy being here and they have been great to me,” said King.

“We have a lot of young talented guys coming through the ranks and a great group of established senior players. I believe the Club has a big future and I want to be a part of it.”

Peter Doust, Dragons CEO, is pleased that King has made the choice to re-sign with the Dragons.

“Cameron is an exciting young talent who has progressed through our development program and we are delighted that we have been able to agree to terms to extend his time at the Club,” said Doust.

“Cameron hasn’t had much luck of late with injuries but he is dedicated to his rehabilitation and the team that we know he will be back in the shortest possible time.

“Such application to his and the teams performance combined with his enthusiasm and commitment to all club activities are a testament to his character. He is an important part of our future both on and off the field.”

The Dragons have also announced the signing of Sharks player and Welsh international Tyson Frizell on 2-year deal, from the 2013 NRL season.

He will join the Dragons in November.
