Tony Williams

It was a deal with Manly, then the Eels, then the Dogs, then back to the Eels, only to end up being with the Dogs. In what a constant merry-go-round, trying to work out exactly where he was going, the Canterbury Bulldogs have announced the signing of Manly forward, Tony Williams.

The deal will start in season 2013, and will see the man nicknamed T-Rex a part of the club, for the next 4 seasons.

For Manly, the club is disappointed to see T-Rex leave the club, but they acknowledge that the decision has been made, and respect the wishes of their Origin forward.

“Tony Williams is clearly a big loss to the club and we’re very disappointed to see him to leave the Sea Eagles,” Manly Warringah Chief Operating Officer David Perry said.

“While we were competitive in negotiations, we are also conscious of maximising our wider playing roster not only for now but well into the future.

“We respect Tony’s decision and we wish him all the best from 2013.”
