The Panthers have added to their already formidable pack, signing Melbourne Storm forward Sika Manu, on a 3-year deal.

Although Manu is currently out injured, but slated to make a return in the near future – the Panthers announced the signing earlier today, that will see Manu with the Penrith club until the end of the 2015 NRL season.

Panthers General Manager Phil Gould, is pleased that the club has signed Manu to a deal.

“We are extremely excited about having Sika and his family join the Panthers from 2013 and beyond. Sika is an international class forward of the highest quality, and I’m sure our club will benefit from his experiences, having being developed through the great Melbourne Storm system.”

With Manu announcing the news to his Storm team-mates that he would depart at season’s end, he has committed to playing to the best of his ability for the remainder of the season, and finishing the 2012 season strongly.

Frank Ponissi, the Storm’s General Manager of Football Operations, said that Manu would be missed, and that the club wishes him well for season 2013 and beyond.

“Sika is a very popular player amongst his teammates and Storm fans and he will be missed at the club,” Ponissi said.

“He isn’t far off from returning from injury, there is still plenty of footy left in 2012 and we know Sika will be looking to finish off the season in a big way.

“We are disappointed to lose Sika, however he leaves Melbourne Storm with our best wishes.”
