Chris McLellan

Following their disappointment at not making the NRL finals, the Gold Coast Titans have suffered another blow, with respected Strength and Conditioning coach Chris McLellan deciding to leave the club.

He informed the Titans hierarchy that he would not be in charge of the clubs High Performance team next year, but McLellan insists that his departure has nothing to do with the Titans failure to make the finals, nor of bad blood between he and John Cartwright.

“That hasn’t been a factor in me moving on. I’ve had a good working relationship with Carty, and I think the club has the roster to be a force next season,” McLellan said.

“I’ve got a couple of things I’m working on. I haven’t confirmed anything, but I’m talking to a few teams in other sports, so I want to stay at the sharp end of sports science and chase some new challenges.”

It leaves the Titans short a member on their High Performance team, with the departed McLellan regarded as one of the best in the game.
