Atelea Vea

Every team needs depth forwards, players who will come in and fill the role when required – and the Dragons have re-signed one of those players, with Atelea Vea agreeing to a 1-year contract extension, until the end of the 2013 season.

Vea, 25, joined the club at the start of the year from the Melbourne Storm, making his debut for the club in Rd 10 against the Penrith Panthers.

He played in 2 games for the Dragons this year, but featured regularly for the Dragons feeder team in the NSW Cup, the Illawarra Cutters.

“It’s good news and I am looking forward to having a fresher year as I had a bit of bad luck with injury this season,” said Vea.

“I enjoyed the chances I did get to represent the team and learnt a lot from the chances I had which will spur me on further when pre-season training commences later in the year.
