Ben Blackmore

He is not quite a bona-fide superstar yet, but he has certainly has the makings to be one – with ESL side the Huddersfield Giants, signing 19-year old Castleford winger Ben Blackmore, on a 1-year deal.

Ben is physically very promising with good speed,” said the Giants Head Coach Paul Anderson.

“He is tall and has a good frame that with full time training will fill out nicely to be able to play comfortably just below the 100kg mark.”

“He is very hungry to grab the opportunity we are giving him, and alongside Matty Dawson will really challenge the more established outside backs here at the club next year. It was self evident to anyone who saw him in the twenties against us, that he is a raw naturally talented player who frankly excites me as to what we may be able to make of him.”

Blackmore himself is excited at the opportunity to join the Giants.

“This is a great opportunity for me at a big Super League Club,” Blackmore said.

“It is a Club that gives youth players a chance to progress and I also know a few of the lads here. I can’t wait for off-season training to begin in November, where I will be looking for a big start and trying to make an impression. There is a great squad at the Giants and I’m looking forward to working hard, and learning from the players and coaching staff here.”
