Michael Crocker

He is one of the club stalwarts, a veteran player, and a leader both on and off the field, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs receiving a big boost – announcing that Michael Crocker has re-signed with the club for one more season.

Crocker has played in 201 NRL games to date, 65 of them for the Rabbitohs, and as played in six test matches and 13 Origin games to boot.

He is a two-time premiership winner with the Roosters and the Storm, and should the Rabbitohs win the 2013 NRL grand final, he will be one of only a few select players to have won a grand final with three different teams.

For Crocker himself, he is pleased to have his future settled at the club.

“I’m really happy about going around for another season and it’s an exciting time to be part of South Sydney,” Crocker said.

“We’re working on building our own history at this Club, and I really want to be part of it.

“The Members have always been very supportive and we’ll be working very hard to build on this year’s performance for them in 2013.”

Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire says that Crocker’s leadership in the side, will again play a large part in 2013.

“Michael’s leadership qualities really shone through in 2012 as part of our five-man captaincy group,” Coach Maguire said.

“He is, and will be, an integral part of this group growing and taking the next steps forward.

“His experience will be crucial in guiding our younger players and helping us to create what we are trying to create at this Club.

“We’re excited to have ‘Crock’ back on board for 2013.”
