Justin Poore

With the rules on international eligibility still unclear and undecided, a new talking point will come to fruition – with former NRL prop Justin Poore, now playing for ESL side, the Wakefield Wildcats, considering the possibility of playing for England in the World Cup next year.

Poore, who spent several years in the NRL with both the Dragons and the Eels, has formerly represented New South Wales in Origin on 3 occasions in 2009, playing in a total of 178 NRL games.

The former NSW forward only recently signed with Wakefield, but given that his father was born in the English town of Southampton – Poore says that if the opportunity arose, he would consider it.

“I'd consider it if there was an opportunity, I'll put it like that,” he said.

“It depends on how I was feeling at the time I guess, you never say never.”
