The world of the NRL is constantly gaining worldwide notoriety and this case is no different, as Changhong, a Chinese TV and appliance brand have announced a partnership with NRL side, the Parramatta Eels for the 2013 season, Changhong’s first major sports sponsor.

With the option available to extend the partnership to a second year, Changhong will act as the Eels secondary major sponsor behind Pirtek, and will feature on the back of the Eels jersey throughout the season.

The jersey will not be the only spot in which Changhong will feature, however, with the Chinese TV and appliance brand to also appear on the goalpost signage at Parramatta Stadium, as well as signage around the ground.

Now a complete part of the Parramatta Eels, Changhong will occupy a catered corporate suite at Parramatta Stadium and also provide the club with televisions to showcase all of Eels products.

For Changhong’s Director of Sales and Marketing Mike Cacciola, this was the first step in a long process for Changhong, as they sought to introduce all Australians to the Changhong brand – with the Parramatta area, location and supporter base in Western Sydney, the key target market for Changhong.

Eels fans and NRL fans will be able to view Changhong signage on the Eels jersey, the goalposts and around the grounds in their first game of the season, when they take on the New Zealand Warriors at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday March 9.

  1. “For…Mike Cacciola, this was the first step in a long process”
The second step should be ensuring the brand name is spelled correctly. 3 uses of Chonghang and 7 uses of Changhong in this article alone.
