David Klemmer

Regarded as one of the best young forward prospects coming out of the Bulldogs club right now, fans will be over the moon to learn of the news that David Klemmer, a 120kg behemoth, has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2016 season.

Still eligible for the Holden Cup in 2013 and having come through the Bulldogs junior ranks in the SG Ball Competition, Klemmer comes into 2013 in red-hot form, having played in 23 games for the Bulldogs NYC side in 2012 and winning the NYC Player of the Year award.

Klemmer, a Toongabbie junior, will make his first professional NRL appearance in the Bulldogs clash tomorrow night against the Cowboys, which the young prop believes will further his development.

“I’ve been at the Club for a number of years now and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else in this next period of my career,” Klemmer said.

“I’ve learnt so much and I enjoy every day that I come here, I’ll keep working hard and learning from Des and the other players here and hopefully I will get my chance at some stage to play NRL.”

The club themselves are pleased to have retained the exciting, young prop, with coach Des Hasler looking forward to what is in store for the young man in the future.

“We’re excited to have re-signed David for the next three years,” said Hasler.

“He has been a part of the junior development system for a number of years. At just 19, he is an exciting prospect and will provide great depth for the Bulldogs moving forward.”
