Robbie Farah

You could sense that he was always the player that was going to stay a one-club man regardless of ongoing speculation, and despite interest from rival NRL clubs, Wests Tigers fans can rejoice – as Robbie Farah, the club’s captain, has signed a new 4-year deal to remain at the club.

For Robbie, the place is like home and the only place he knows, as he’s been involved with the club since he was just a young boy wiht ambitions to play rugby league.

“I’ve been playing for this club since I was 12 years old and the club means everything to me,” said Farah.

“I’ve got a strong emotional attachment and I love the club dearly. I never take for granted the fact that I’ve been given the responsibility to captain this club.”

Equally ecstatic is the club’s CEO Stephen Humphreys, who is excited to see Farah remain a Tiger for life.

“Robbie has cemented his position as one of the game’s most elite and inspirational players,’’ Humphreys said.

“His new contract reflects this fact and is a great reward for not only his superb skills but also his professionalism and dedication.”

Someone who can see first-hand the work and attitude Robbie applies to his footy and off the field is coach Mick Potter, who is also excited to work with the club’s captain and leader over the next few years.

“Robbie is a winner and provides great leadership on and off the field, not only to the playing group but to the Club generally,’’ Potter said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with him to deliver the kind of success we are all striving for.”

For Robbie, there was no other option but to remain at the club and he looks forward to the upcoming years for the Tigers, as he prepares for tomorrow night’s clash against the Eels.

“I couldn’t be happier to have my future at Wests Tigers secured through this new deal,’’ Farah said.

“I have total confidence in the future of the Club. We have entered an exciting new phase and I can only see plenty of positives and success ahead for us.

“With my future settled, I can’t wait to the lead the team out tomorrow night at Leichhardt Oval in front of the best and most passionate Members in the game.”
