Jamie Soward

It was a very topsy-turvy game overall that saw the Dragons push ahead early, only for the Tigers to roar back into the game after a late fightback, before a Jamie Soward field goal sealed the victory for the Dragons, their 3rd straight – guiding the Dragons to 13-12 nail-biting victory over the Wests Tigers.

The Tigers did have a try disallowed for an obstruction, as it was the Dragons with all the early running and momentum, before some basic errors let the Tigers back into the game, a game they almost won.

The Dragons faced a scare when it was locked at 12-all, as they could have been leading 18-12 at the most, but Jamie Soward missed all three of his conversion attempts.

The loss was compounded for the Tigers with Aaron Woods, Jack Buchanan, Braith Anasta, Chris Lawrence & Robbie Farah all set to undergo scans on respective injuries.

With the Tigers gaining the momentum throughout the game, coach Mick Potter felt that it was their execution that ultimately, let his side down.

“We had some opportunities that we either turned possession over or just blew it,” said Potter.

“It wasn’t our most polished performance and we can do a lot better. Disappointing that the result was the way it was, but when you make so many errors, you don’t deserve to win.”
