Sam McKendry

Shoring up their line-up for the future is a key for the Penrith Panthers and on the back of a solid 2014 so far, prop Sam McKendry has opted to re-sign until the end of 2019.

McKendry, who has received an extension to his current deal, will remain at the foot of the mountains for five more years.

Having played at Penrith for some time, the Kiwi prop could not be more excited.

“I couldn’t be happier to be staying on with Penrith and to be playing out the next 5 years with the club,” said McKendry.

“We have a really solid team at the moment and Ivan Cleary is an incredible leader, and I see a really bright future here with plenty more to come”

The club are just as pleased and know how important McKendry is to their line-up in the future.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Sam staying with the club,” said Panthers General Manager of Rugby League, Phil Moss.

“He has always been one of our most consistent players and we are confident he still has a lot of good football to play. His commitment to the Panthers club is second to none, and we’re looking forward to sharing his career with him”
