Paul Green

It was coming and now it has been confirmed, with the North Queensland Cowboys re-signing talented coach Paul Green for a further three seasons.

On the back of the club’s record-breaking winning streak, the club knew it was the right call to make, with Green revolutionising the Cowboys side and getting the best out of the players in the process.

The club also know that he is the right fit and Chairman Laurence Lancini was quick to highlight that.

“Paul has had tremendous success at the Cowboys in his time here already, and the board and the broader Cowboys family are thrilled he will continue to lead the football team for the next three seasons,” Lancini said.

“He’s had an important hand in re-signing a number of our key players, and the three-year deal brings a great deal of stability heading into the future.

“Also, Paul has a deep understanding of the importance of the club to the North Queensland community.”

For Green himself, it made sense to stay with the Cowboys as coach for family reasons especially.

“I’m really happy to have the future settled and excited about where the club is going with the footy program,” he said.

“Given my wife Amanda is from Home Hill, the whole family feels settled in North Queensland. It’s a perfect fit for all of us.”

Green is excited at what lies ahead for the club and knows that the players and staff at his disposal can help both he and the club to achieve better things.

“I’ve got a great bunch of players here to work with and I’m thrilled about what the future holds for the Cowboys,” Green said.

“I’ve got a very good staff, a terrific playing group and a tremendously supportive board.”
