Anthony Griffin

Some would say that his time at the Brisbane Broncos ended somewhat prematurely whilst others would agree with it but either way, a return to coaching is on the cards for Anthony Griffin.

Dumped to make way for the return of Wayne Bennett at the Broncos, Griffin will take over mantle at Intrust Super Cup side, the Redcliffe Dolphins.

Griffin replaces outgoing Redcliffe coach Troy Lindsay and is pleased to have an opportunity to return to a club as a coach.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be able to coach at Redcliffe again,” Griffin said.

“The Dolphins are a magnificent club with great fans, and I am looking forward to working hard with the players and staff.”

After some tough years as a club, rebuilding is the key for the Dolhphins. Grant Cleal, the club’s General Manager of Football, knows that whilst they have been struggling, getting Griffin on board is a step in the right direction.

“Hook has a great reputation here and his return is very exciting for the club, its players and staff,” Cleal said.

“There are no other coaches at this level with his NRL record and experience and he will no doubt be back in the NRL at some stage.”
