Te Maire Martin

Touted as one of the most promising Holden Cup talents this year, Te Maire Martin will change clubs from 2016, signing with the Penrith Panthers on a three-year deal.

After spending the last two seasons with the Wests Tigers, the junior Kiwi is pleased to have his future settled.

“It feels great to have secured my future and I am already looking forward to training with my new teammates,” Martin said.

“My big dream is to play in the NRL and I know having the opportunity to learn from Jamie Soward and Peter Wallace will really help me get there.”

The 2014 season was the breakout year for Martin and he was selected in the Holden Cup Team of the Year with some of his upcoming team-mates.

Penrith Panthers Executive General Manager of Rugby League, Phil Gould, says signing such a promising player like Martin is a great boost for the club.

“Te Maire is one of the outstanding young talents coming through the NYC system,” he said.

“We believe he’s a player of great potential, a long-term NRL player and we’re excited to have him here at the Panthers.”
