Matt Wright

With the need for some additional back-line depth to their side in light of injuries and potential retirements, the Manly Sea Eagles have signed Matthew Wright for three seasons.

Wright, who most recently played at the North Queensland Cowboys, has been released by the Cowboys effective immediately.

With 96 games under his belt to date, Wright also played for the Cronulla Sharks previously and with his utility value, Trent Barrett can see him being a great asset for the club.

“Matthew is a quality player who can easily play full-back, wing, centre, and five-eighth. When he became available, we didn’t hesitate to sign him,’’ Barrett said.

“He has played almost 100 first grade games and his experience and utility value will be of enormous value to us as we progress further into the season. We look forward to welcoming him to the club.”
