Josh Jackson

The subject of much speculation in recent times, Canterbury Bulldogs fans will be pleased that back-rower Josh Jackson has re-signed with the club.

The new deal will see the NSW representative stay with the Bulldogs until the end of 2020.

Arriving at the club at just 18 years old, Jackson has come through the ranks and emerged as a quality back-rower over the years.

For the man himself, signing a new deal was a no-brainer.

“It’s awesome, it’s always a privilege and an honour to pull on the blue and white jersey and to be able to do that for another four years, I’m over the moon,” Jackson said.

“To agree on the four years is really big and great for me, it’s a great commitment from both sides and I’m stoked it’s all done.

For the boy from the country, everything about the club from its players, its staff, and his team-mates made his decision easier.

“I’ve been at the club for a fair while now, the club developed me and they showed a lot of faith in me when I was younger. The players, staff, and fans make this club so great and I didn’t even think about going anywhere else,” Jackson added.

“Coming from the country, the values instilled in you are to be a one club man and the next four years helps in hopefully being able to achieve that. I’d love to stay at this club for life.”

A Gulgong junior, Jackson has represented Country Origin, NSW and Australia and he is pleased to be a part of the club and its development.

“I put a lot of my success down to the team’s success,” Jackson said.

“There is a great bunch of players here and coming into the side in 2012, we were in a really good patch and since then we’ve performed quite well. That has definitely helped with my development.”
