Josh Hoffman

Always looking to strengthen their side and build a formidable team, the Parramatta Eels have strengthened their roster with the signing of Gold Coast Titans utility back Josh Hoffman on a 3-year deal.

Granted a release by the Titans to take up the deal, Hoffman was grateful for the time spent on the Gold Coast.

“Thanks to the club for giving me an opportunity to play on the Gold Coast for two years with a great bunch of teammates,” Hoffman said.

“It was unfortunate how the season ended for us against Brisbane but the future is looking great for the club moving forward and I wish the Titans the very best.

He also thanked fans and the support he was given throughout his two years at the club.

“I want to thank the members and fans for their support, I really enjoyed the rapport the team has with the fans,” Hoffman added.

“And to all the boys; it was a pleasure to play alongside such a great bunch of blokes and such committed and tough players.”

Hoffman drew praise from Titans coach Neil Henry, who spoke of Hoffman’s contributions to the club.

“I would like to thank Josh for his contribution to the club over the last two seasons,” said Henry.

“He proved a durable and versatile player and certainly contributed to the improvement in our team. I would like to wish him all the best in the next phase of his football career.”

With 158 NRL games to date at both the Titans and the Brisbane Broncos, Hoffman has also achieved representative honours for New Zealand.

Hoffman’s experience and utility value had Eels head coach Brad Arthur also praising the versatile back.

“Josh brings tremendous NRL experience and can play anywhere from 1 to 6 which ensures our squad will have strong competition across multiple positions,” Arthur said.

“He has been a strong and consistent performer for the Titans over the past couple of years and he will provide a strong contribution to the club from 2017 and beyond.”
