It was speculated for some time and the move has now been made official, with James Tedesco to don the Tricolours jersey from 2018, signing with the Sydney Roosters.
Regarded as one of the game’s elite fullbacks, Tedesco leaves the Tigers after 78 games with the club.
Set to join a team already boasting premiership players, club CEO Joe Kelly is pleased to have added another crucial piece of the puzzle.
“James is a tremendously exciting talent whose signature we are pleased to have secured and we look forward to welcoming him to the Roosters in 2018,” said Kelly.
In an ideal world, the Tigers would have loved to have retained Tedesco but it was not to be and he made the decision to join the Roosters.
“I’m sure this decision hasn’t been made lightly by James and while it will be disappointing to see him leave at season’s end, we will continue to provide him with all the support he needs,” said Wests Tigers CEO, Justin Pascoe.
“James is a quality young man both on and off the field and I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to his new club.”
