The Brisbane Broncos have joined the mid-season signing party, with the addition of hulking South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Rhys Kennedy.
Kennedy, who was granted an early release by the Rabbitohs, has signed a deal for the remainder of this season and for 2020 with the Broncos.
Standing at 197cm, the 24-year-old becomes the Broncos tallest forward, as the club looked to boost their forward stocks.
The Rabbitohs released a short statement on Kennedy’s release:
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have released Rhys Kennedy from the remainder of his playing contract immediately to join another NRL club.
Kennedy, 24, made his NRL debut earlier this year against the Gold Coast Titans and has played two first grade games for South Sydney this season.
The Rabbitohs wish Rhys the best of luck in the future.
