Newly signed Melbourne Storm centre Ricky Leutele

Needing to fill a spot due to injury, the Melbourne Storm have signed veteran centre Ricky Leutele for the rest of 2020.

Leutele, an experienced centre, has played in 129 NRL games and most recently played for the Toronto Wolfpack.

With the current climate barren due to the pandemic, the Wolfpack and their decision to withdraw from the Super League left Leutele without a club.

Leutele and his family will have to undergo the mandatory two-week isolation upon their arrival in Queensland.

Leutele will then join his Storm team-mates, with his experience set to prove invaluable.

With several appearances for Samoa to his name, Leutele’s greatest honour perhaps, is winning the 2016 NRL grand final.

At the Sharks during that time, it was the Storm who they beat, with Leutele a constant figure in a strong Sharks outfit at that time.
