A club stalwart that scores tries galore, Anthony Don will remain with the Gold Coast Titans after re-signing for 2021.
A prolific finisher, Don has become a fan favourite in recent years for the Titans.
As they rebuild their roster under coach Justin Holbrook, Don admits that his form has been ok without being great.
With that in mind, Don is pleased to stay at the Titans.
“I thought I’ve been playing OK this year and I’m really happy that the club wants to have me around next year,” Don said.
“It (2021) is likely to be my last year next year but you never know.
“I know if the Titans didn’t want to re-sign me that I was probably finished up in the NRL, so I’m really happy that I’ve got another year and that I get to keep playing for the Titans.”
With the club on the up under Holbrook, Don said he found a renewed passion for the game under the rookie coach.
“Last year it was a bit of a chore to come to training and I wasn’t enjoying footy as much,” he said.
“With the new coaching staff and new squad, I’ve really loved coming to training and I love playing the games on the weekend and I’m just really enjoying playing footy at the moment.
“I think the Titans are in for a bright future over the next few years and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
With 150 NRL games on the horizon, Holbrook praised the veteran winger for what he has brought to the club.
“It’s exciting the our leading try scorer will continue on with us,” Holbrook said.
“I’ve been so impressed with Anthony since I joined the club and I love his competitive spirit.
“The standards that he sets around the group and at training are what drives the group and I look forward to him helping push our group forward even further next season.”
