It was a rather turbulent back and forth affair but Josh Aloiai has his wish; to sign with the Manly Sea Eagles.

Aloiai, who became disgruntled at the Wests Tigers on the back of his best season to date, will don the Manly jersey for three seasons.

It is a disappointing end to Aloiai’s stint at the Tigers, given how well he was building with them as a player and a person.

His debut came for the Tigers back in 2016 and he has played 90 NRL games to date, 2020 being his standout season.

One team’s departure is another team’s gain, however, and Manly are excited to have Aloiai on board.

“We are very pleased to secure a quality forward and strong leader in Aloiai,” said Manly CEO Stephen Humphreys.

ā€œI have no doubt that his on-field contributions will be immense and he will also support our existing leadership group in ensuring that our standards and culture are that of high performance and winning organisation.

ā€œIā€™d like to acknowledge and thank the Wests Tigers for agreeing to release Josh so he can immediately join the Sea Eagles.ā€

Aloiai strengthens the Manly forward pack with the loss of Addin Fonua-Blake.

Aloiai has also previously played for Samoa at the international level.
