His talent has been talked about for a while and the Wests Tigers were quick to secure Jake Simpkin long-term.
Already contracted for 2022, Simpkin, who is still only 19, has shown his talents in first grade since debuting.
Simpkin’s new deal sees him stay with the club until the end of 2024, which is a two-year extension on his current deal.
With his third game around the corner and fast approaching, Simpkin is pleased to stay on at the Tigers.
“I couldn’t be happier to be here at the club,” Simpkin said.
“I’m really enjoying and excited by what we’re building at Wests Tigers and I want to be part of that long-term.
“I’m determined to keep putting in my best performances each week now and be a contributing factor to bringing success to the club.”
Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire, who appreciates hard work and commitment of his players, praised Simpkins for those attributes.
“Jake’s worked incredibly hard since he’s come to Wests Tigers and has shown a great attitude and commitment to all that’s been asked of him,” Maguire said.
“He’s still got his entire career ahead of him and we’re looking forward to watching him develop further as a player in Wests Tigers colours for many years to come.”
