As the Gold Coast Titans look to always better themselves, they have taken another step towards that with the re-signing of AJ Brimson.
Brimson, a talented fullback who can also cover in the halves, has signed a five-year deal with the club.
Titans coach Justin Holbrook did not mince his words when talking about how crucial Brimson is to the Titans’ side.
“I think it reaffirms the stability in our Club from one of the most exciting players in the NRL,” Holbrook said.
“He is a local product who loves the Club and wants to be successful here, so he sees a good vision moving forward.
“It’s so important for us to have AJ locked in long term because he is so important to what we are building here.”
As Brimson continues to develop as a player, Holbrook knows he will only get better and that keeping him will help the side’s continuity.
“I think it is great for everyone, I think he is one of the best young players in the NRL and he is only going to get better over the next few years,” Holbrook continued.
“To have a player of his calibre excited to be here, it’s great from a coaching point of view and it is great for everyone involved in the club that he has locked in his future with us.”
Brimson, to date, has played in 55 NRL games since debuting in 2018.
The Keebra Park local has also represented Queensland and also received glowing praise from Titans CEO Steve Mitchell.
“AJ is the perfect example of the pathways we are building on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“From one of our local schools, he progressed through the Junior Titans System and into our NRL program.
“As we build the Titans on and off-field over the next decade, we are excited that AJ will be a big part of that and we hope that he will be holding the NRL Premiership trophy aloft in the not too distant future.”
