Oliver Gildart will become the latest Englishman to test himself in the NRL, signing a two-year deal with the Wests Tigers from 2022.

Gildart, who is seen as a quality centre, currently plays for the Wigan Warriors in the Super League.

A local Wigan youth product, he was a part of Wigan’s consecutive grand final successes in 2016 and 2017.

With three Test caps to his name for England and 61 tries in 129 games, he comes with a reputation, and the Tigers will hope he can emulate that for them.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire is looking forward to working with Gildart from the 2022 season.

“Oliver is coming from a very strong and successful club in Wigan and has already played in a number of big matches throughout his career,” Maguire said.

“We’re looking forward to him bringing his experience and talents to our squad in 2022 and watching him take the next step forward in his rugby league career in a Wests Tigers jersey.”
