The Sydney Roosters may be undergoing a changing of the guard of sorts but they have made sure to keep around Daniel Tupou and Lindsay Collins, two key players.

Tupou, who is the longest-serving member of the Roosters back-line has 110 tries for the club and has won three premierships.

Tupou made his debut for the Roosters in 2012 and has not looked back, knowing that his time at the club has been a blessing.

“I could never imagine myself playing for another Club,” said Tupou.

“This is home and I cherish every opportunity I get to represent the Roosters.”

For Collins, who is unfortunately out injured due to an ACL injury, his journey since a Roosters debut in 2017 has progressed well.

From a bench role to a starting prop role, his form saw him rewarded with an Origin berth for Queensland in 2020, where he also excelled.

With a tight-knit group, Collins has faith in the club that they can perform and cannot wait to get back amongst it once his rehabilitation finishes.

“I love being part of the team we have here. We’re a tight group and we push each other to be better every day,” said Collins.

“The Roosters have taken really good care of me since day one, especially this year with my injury, and to know that I will continue to represent this Club that means so much to me over the next few years is something I’m really proud of.”

Both Tupou and Collins drew praise from Roosters coach Trent Robinson for their efforts on and off the field.

“Daniel and Lindsay are important contributors to our squad, not only for what they bring on the field but for the quality people that they are away from it,” said Robinson.

“In their own way, they are both unassuming leaders with a ‘team first’ mentality, and prime examples for the younger members of our squad to look up to, so it’s great to have them re-commit to the Club.”
