They have very few specialist back-rowers but that will change for the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2022 with the signing of Jaydn Su’A.
Su’A, who is currently at the South Sydney Rabbitohs, has penned a three-year deal with the Dragons in a signing boost for them.
Su’A has also previously played for the Brisbane Broncos.
After off-field turmoil and some inconsistent form, the fans needed some good news and have received that with the signing of Su’A.
Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly praised Su’A efforts at the club and wished him well upon his move to the Dragons for 2022.
“Jaydn’s game has significantly improved during his time at our Club, so much so he has played for Queensland on four occasions during his time at Souths,” Solly said.
“He has played an important role in our forward rotation over the past three seasons, has always been a dedicated professional and we look forward to him continuing to play his role in our chase for our 22nd premiership this year. ”
Ben Haran, the Dragons General Manager of Football, says it was no secret the pack was an area they needed to recruit in and believes Su’A will be a great asset.
“We have made no secret that strengthening our pack has been a recruitment priority for us of late and we’re pleased to bring a player to the club of Jaydn’s quality,” Haran said.
“While only young, he is at a good stage of his career having already played representative football at a State of Origin and international level.
“The most exciting thing about the recruitment of Jaydn over the coming three seasons is the extra dimension he will add to our squad.”
