Although Matt Moylan’s time at the Cronulla Sharks has been a turbulent one due to injury, the utility back has re-signed for 2022.
Moylan has played in 144 NRL games, 55 of which have come for the Sharks since he joined them in 2018.
His re-signing provides further depth and firepower for the Sharks halves in 2022 and Moylan is pleased to stick around.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to stay for another year,” Moylan said.
“I’ve had a few chats to Fitzy and I look forward to working with him, Josh, and the coaching staff next year.”
Moylan is confident that new coach Craig Fitzgibbon and the club can further his development as he looks to finish 2021 strongly.
“I’m confident they can make me a better player on the field and help with my development off it as well,” Moylan continued.
“Until then I’m working hard to get back on the field next week and to finish the season off strongly.”
Interim Sharks coach Josh Hannay is pleased to see someone as talented as Moylan remain.
“I’m really happy for the club and Matt that both parties have come to an agreement for next season,” Hannay said.”
“Matt has been one of our better performers this season and although injured at the moment, he’s shown a greater durability than in previous years.”
