Murray Taulagi has fast become one of the North Queensland Cowboys’ most consistent performers and as a result, has a new deal.
Taulagi’s new contract will see him remain at the Cowboys for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Since debuting in 2019, Taulagi has played 27 NRL games but it has been 2021 where he has begun to stand out.
With 10 tries in 17 games this season, the club is pleased with his form and his ability to adapt.
“We’re extremely excited to have locked Murray in for another two years,” Cowboys Head of Football Micheal Luck said.
“He has begun to establish himself as an every week first grader this season.
“He has done some great things on the wing and has also shown some positive signs over the past two weeks when he has been asked to play in the centres.”
Taulagi is also a local junior and in the eyes of the club, he is a player that fits the Cowboys system.
“Murray came through our junior system, he has a good knowledge of what Todd and his coaching staff are trying to do and the style of football they want us to play,” Luck continued.
“He is going to be an important asset for our club over the next two seasons and hopefully further into the future.”
