One of their most reliable players on the edge, the Melbourne Storm have moved quickly to secure Felise Kaufusi.

Kaufusi has signed a new deal with the club that takes him through to the end of the 2022 season.

With 150 NRL games for the club fast approaching, 2022 will be Kaufusi’s eighth season with the club.

Part of the Storm’s two premiership victories in 2017 and 2020, Kaufusi has also represented Queensland, Australia, and Tonga.

With a host of young players coming through the ranks, the club praised Kaufusi for the leadership he has shown the younger talent.

“He’s an integral part of our forward pack and has stepped up to our leadership group, helping our younger forwards on and off the field,” Storm General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi said.

The Storm believe Kaufusi still has more good football left in him.

“The Kaufusi family has had a proud history with Storm, starting with Antonio back in 2003 before Felise and then Patrick wore the purple jersey,” Ponissi continued.

“We’re sure Felise has plenty of good football in front of him and love having his wife Bec and children as part of our wider Storm family.”
