Freeing up a spot after the release of Adam Elliott, the Canterbury Bulldogs have added John Asiata to their ranks for 2022.
Asiata, who is a versatile forward with some ball-playing ability, provides something a bit different that could aid the Bulldogs.
A premiership winner in 2015 with the North Queensland Cowboys, Asiata has most recently played for the Brisbane Broncos.
Still only 28, Asiata has also represented both Samoa and Tonga, his signing is one that has the Bulldogs faithful excited.
“By signing someone of John’s experience and versatility for next season, we believe that we have found a player who will be a great addition to our club,” said Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton.
With forwards such as Tevita Pangai Junior, Paul Vaughan and Josh Cook joining us, plus retaining a strong nucleus from our current squad, we think that John will bring a level of skill and leadership that will greatly complement that group.”
