A new challenge beckons for Sitaleki Akauola who has penned a deal with the Salford Red Devils for two seasons.

Akauola, who has most recently played for the Warrington Wolves, is no stranger to NRL fans either.

He had stints with the Wests Tigers and the Penrith Panthers as well as playing for Tonga, and is excited about his move to Salford.

“I’m really looking forward to playing for Salford, it’s a club with passion and ambition,” Akauola said.

“It’ll be great to be playing in front of that Salford faithful, who I know are a massive part of Salford Red Devils.”

His size and strength are just two of the attributes that convinced Salford to sign him.

“Sita wanted to come to Salford to show what a quality player he really is and he is a fantastic acquisition for the Club, as we look to challenge at the top of Super League again,” said Director of Rugby Ian Blease.

“He adds size, strength, athleticism, and versatility to the pack and I look forward to seeing him rip it up in a Salford shirt.”
