There was some talk of a possible departure from the Brisbane Broncos for Patrick Carrigan but that has been nipped in the bud.

Carrigan has signed a new deal with the Broncos for two more years until the end of the 2024 season.

Already contracted for 2022, Carrigan was starting to come into his own as a forward before injury struck.

A local junior, Carrigan was a former Broncos captain and is a crucial forward in their rotation.

The Broncos are all Carrigan knows and Broncos Football and Performance Director Ben Ikin knew keeping him was key.

“I’m very happy Pat chose to extend his stay at the Brisbane Broncos – he’s been in our system for a long time and is highly regarded by everyone at the club,” Ikin said.

“Pat’s a quality player and a great leader, and we’re lucky to have him.”
