Every side needs capable forwards to step up and the Gold Coast Titans have moved swiftly to retain Sam McIntyre.

McIntyre, who saw limited game time in 2021, is still only 23 and a player that will continue to develop over the next couple of seasons.

His new deal will see him remain with the Titans until the end of the 2023 season.

His NRL debut came at the Wests Tigers and with 10 NRL games at the Titans to his name so far, Titans coach Justin Holbrook expects him to make an impression.

“Sam is only 23 years old and is still at the beginning of his NRL career, so his game is going to continue to grow.

“He’s only had two seasons in the competition and he’s already shown what he can do.

”Sam is putting in plenty of work this pre-season and I’m confident that we will see his game continue to improve in 2022.”
