Solid prop depth and rotations are crucial nowadays and the Parramatta Eels have re-signed Wiremu Greig, Ky Rodwell, Makahesi Makatoa, and Ofahiki Ogden.

The quartet have all experienced first-grade in the past. Greig has signed on for the 2023 season.

Makatoa, Rodwell, and Ogden are all signed up until the 2024 season.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said the club is pleased to re-sign the four props.

“We’re really happy to have these four men be part of our team, they have shown their commitment to the Eels through solid efforts in pre-season training,” said O’Neill.

“All four players have their best football ahead of them and we believe that with our coaching, and in our Eels environment, we will see this occur.

“The quality and depth up front with our middle forwards will not only provide competition for spots but also ensure we are well covered in case of any interruptions throughout the year due to Covid.”

Greig’s NRL debut came last year and it was followed up by a second appearance for the Maori All-Stars earlier this month.

Rodwell made his debut in round 25 last year and played on with a broken hand.

Ogden, who has played first-grade with the Bulldogs, was offered a train and trial by the Eels.

Such was the pre-season form of Ogden, that the club have put him on a development contract for 2022 and added two years on top for a new deal.
