In what is perhaps a surprise move, the New Zealand Warriors have signed Dylan Walker from 2023 for three seasons.
Walker, currently at the Manly Sea Eagles, has 163 NRL games to his name and 65 tries.
His debut came with the South Sydney Rabbitohs where he started out as a centre.
For the Sea Eagles, he has morphed into more of a utility player off the bench.
Walker drew extensive praise from Craig Hodges, the Warriors General Manager of Football.
“He has proven himself among the competition’s best and most consistent players over the last two seasons, a player very much on top of his game,” said Hodges.
“He’s a high-quality centre who can also play in the halves, at fullback and fill a role in the middle if required. Dylan’s going to bring so much to our side from next season.”
Equally pleased is Warriors CEO Cameron George who believes Walker, a NSW Origin representative can add value to the side from 2023.
“Signing Dylan is a terrific boost for us as we build and improve our roster for next season and beyond,” said George.
“Along with our other major signings for 2023 and on, he will lend experience as well as adding hugely to our depth.”
