Earning himself somewhat of a following at the Sydney Roosters over the years, Siosiua Taukeiaho has achieved plenty for the club and will look to the same for the Catalans Dragons.

Taukeiaho’s deal with Catalans is for two years and there is an option for a third.

Taukeiaho did not hold back when talking about how much the Roosters club meant to him.

“The Sydney Roosters has been my home for almost ten years, I love the Club and the people in it,” Taukeiaho said.

“There have been some special times and I’m looking forward to creating many more memories during the rest of this season.”

Although his future is now sorted at Catalans for 2023, Taukeiaho’s focus remains on the Roosters and their 2022 campaign.

“Joining Catalans Dragons is an exciting opportunity for me and my family, but that’s ahead in 2023,” Taukeiaho continued.

“I’m pleased to have my future sorted but my only focus for the remainder of 2022 is doing my best for the Sydney Roosters and paying the jersey the respect it deserves each week I wear it.”

The Roosters connection will continue at Catalans with current coach Steve McNamara once an assistant coach at the club.

“Siua is an outstanding player and professional who will bring many qualities to our team,” McNamara said.

“He is a very talented all round player with great leadership skills.

“I know him well from my time at the Roosters, seeing 1st hand just how hard he has worked to reach the highest of levels in becoming and NRL grand final winner on 2 occasions and being the current captain of Tonga.”
